About the committee
This committee organises some 40 events annually comprising conferences, day and half day seminars, lunchtime and evening discussions. Where appropriate events are organised in conjunction with other bodies such as the Actuarial Profession, IMA, INQUIRE, or the Pensions Management Institute. Most of the Society's Professional Development events are held in the Weaver Suite, its own in-house facility capable of accommodating between 30 and 50 delegates.The committee also organises regional conferences with the CFA Institute.
Terms of Reference
- To review all policy issues relating to professional development, proposing any necessary changes to the Board.
- To develop a programme of seminars, discussions and other events designed to further professional development.
- To review and monitor feedback on professional development events.
- To liaise with other committees, in particular the Marketing and Communications Committee.
- To liaise with other bodies on relevant events where joint sponsorship or close liaison would be beneficial.
