please click here.
The Financial Services Skills Council will be able to advise candidates who suspect they may have an equivalent qualification. You can reach their Exam Line
on
0845 257 3771. Any questions, email
Cindy Sharman.
What ID do I need
to bring to the test centre?
The
only accepted forms of ID are:
- A valid, signed
passport
- A valid, signed UK
photo drivers licence
- A valid, signed UK photo
provisional drivers licence
At present, European photo ID cards
are not accepted as a form of ID. If you cannot present the required ID, please
contact
Cindy Sharman immediately.
Do I need to
bring a calculator to the exam?
No. The test centre staff will
provide you with a
Casio FX-83ES scientific calculator to use in the exam, along
with an erasable whiteboard and pen for your workings.
Any other belongings must be locked away in the secure locker area before entering the test room.
What does
‘On-Screen Test’ mean?
It means that you sit the whole test
on a computer, using a mouse and keyboard to answer the questions on the screen,
whilst the computer times the test. This system allows us to offer you a wide
range of dates, times and places to sit the test. For security reasons, you
can't use your own computer; you must use one of our computers at one of our
test centres.
If there are a
lot of different test-dates, isn't there a risk that some people will find out
the questions in advance?
We have a large Question Bank from
which examination are created. At any one time there are a number of examination
papers in use, which are changed quarterly. Each time a paper is presented to a
candidate, the order in which the questions appear is randomised. No candidate
will be allowed to take the same paper twice.
Are practice
questions available?
The Official Training Manual contains a mock exam for each Unit of
the IMC. In addition, several of the IMC training providers have 'online question banks' available for candidates to use as practice questions. You can find a list of
training providers here.
My login details don't work!
The login details given in your confirmation email should allow you to log in to the
Pearson VUE website and chose the time, date and venue of your exam. If you are unable to log in, try clicking the 'I forgot my password' link on the login page. This will send a new password to your primary email address, and allow you to log in successfully. If this does not work, email
Cindy Sharman.
What if I miss my
exam due to a flat tyre, flu, etc..?
You are able to reschedule your test
appointment
online at no extra charge up to mightnight of the day prior to your existing
appointment. If you have missed your test for any reason, and you did not
reschedule in time, you will have to
register for another exam at your own expense. This
also applies to candidates who arrive at the test centre late, and those who arrive
with incorrect ID.
If you miss your test due to
illness on the day, please refer to the Society's
special considerations policy.
How do I get my exam
results?
3 working days after your exam, you will be able to log in to
our website and view your
provisional result. You will need the original username and password in your confirmation email, sent to you upon registration. Your results will be confirmed upon receipt of a certificate or fail letter, which will be mailed within 21 days of the exam to the nominated address.
Can I become a
member of the Society?
Once you have passed the Full IMC
you can become an
IMC member of the Society and use the designation. You do not need to become a member
prior to taking the exam.
