The Financial Services
Skills Council (FSSC) announced on 21st May 2007 that the society is
the first institution to successfully meet the appropriate exam
standards for managing investments. It is listed as an
Appropriate examination for investment management and
Recommended examination for a range of other activities by the FSSC.
FSSC Chief Executive Teresa Sayers says: “The numerous firms and
individuals that use the IMC can continue to have confidence that it
matches the nationally agreed standards for the role. Consistency is
one of the key principles of our exam review and this submission is an
excellent example of that working in practice."
The IMC also offers a good introduction to the financial services
industry for those working in support areas such as information
technology and marketing and, it provides a solid foundation for Level
I of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Program.
